Softconnection Market Overview

In the last 1-2 years there has been the start of an evolution in the market for Mobile Phone Data Back Up. Key factors are providing a wider spectrum of opportunity for players in this space such as; the rapid rise of Smartphones within the global subscriber base, the ongoing social networking revolution, the availability of high speed mobile network connections, the growth of application stores and the emergence of cloud computing.

Softconnection has developed the core rich data back up system which can protect and organise such data for Mobile Device users and has a clear road map to extend that facility to a wider community.

The fact that Softconnection can support synchronisation of all file types is a major advantage and one that can be exploited fully in future development plans. In addition, Softconnection has created a vision for extending its core competency into a variety of directions so as to create a much wider ‘system’ around its core sync capability.

Back to business!

Greetings from sunny Finland. We enjoyed a beautiful spring weekend here in Finland which accompanied nicely with May day celebrations. It was relaxing to unwind a little over the long weekend but now it's back to re focusing on Softconnections final delivery of SC BackUp to partners and customers.

My optimism in the growth in usage of SC BackUp application or of similar kind of mobile backup products is increasing with a steady flow of interest coming from a number of new avenues. The only way to explain this growing interest is that mobile phone users are realising the importance of what is stored on their mobile phones. Another interesting topic of interest is that mobile users are wanting an application or tool to ease the transfer of data from one phone to another. Most mobile phone manufacturers offer a tool for data transfer using syncml technology but many written reports by consumers find that these tools are not competent enough and they also are not necessarily user friendly.

It seems that with SC BackUp we have really hit a nerve with mobile phone users in the way that the features of the backup application, backup, restore or transfer mobile data answer many of their questions and needs. I am adamant that the more people use SC BackUp, they will realise how easy securing and transferring valuable mobile data can be.

If you want to test the product for your selves then please go to http://www.scbackup.fi/ and register to receive SC BackUp software to your phone today.

The awareness of mobile phone backup is growing

It has been a while since I posted something so I thought it was time to share some news and information with you.

To begin, I would like to share some pre official announcement news that SC BackUp will soon be available in 16 different countries. This is exciting news for Softconnection as it is the beginning of the global deliverance of the SC BackUp application. This will allow users all over the world to easily activate SC BackUp to their phones. More info in the near future!

As mobile phone backup is one of my favourite topics, I must share my thoughts on the growing awareness of mobile phone backup. When surfing the net the topic of mobile phone backup pops up everywhere. This is also due to a number of new mobile backup products surfacing, but that is another topic in it's self. Even though these new mobile phone backup products are not competitive to the SC BackUp application in features etc, because of their complexity, ability only to backup important data and not restore and still using syncml technology, what these new mobile backup products have achieved is making mobile phone users realise how important it is to backup valuable mobile phone data stored on the phone. Other factors that have increased the need for mobile backup are the countless incidents and stories that we here about friends and family losing, dropping or breaking their mobile phone. And then the heart ache and annoyance of having to manually insert all you contacts into your phone again. If we haven't experienced this ourselves first hand then i am sure we all know someone who has.

With the awareness of mobile backup growing it gives Softconnection a great opportunity to assist users and offer them a complete mobile backup solution through SC BackUp. I am adamant that SC BackUp is still the only complete mobile backup and restore solution that can backup and restore phone contacts, calendars and sms data over the air using GPRS technology to a SSL std secure server. Current SC BackUp users agree that once you use SC BackUp it becomes a necessity to have on the phone as a protection for the mobile life stored on mobile phones.

I am sure that this awareness for backing up mobile phone data will only grow as 1. The usage of mobile phones increases. 2. Mobile phones increase data storage capabilities and 3. Mobile phones will be used more in business activities which will mean the data stored on the mobile phone is vital.

BornGlobal Announcement

Hello readers,

Well what a few weeks it has been. The beginning of 2008 has been very productive for Softconnection and touch wood, I hope it will continue through out the year.

Last week Softconnection was selected out of a number of companies to receive 2 years internationalization support from the BornGlobal project. What this means for Softconnection is that we will receive professional expertise and financial support in market entry around the globe. We are very pleased with this news because the timing could not be better with SC BackUp being soon released into 13 selected markets around the world. The BornGlobal funding will give some excellent support to this project but it will play a greater hand in the market entry to new countries in the future.

With a positive start to 2008 my expectations for the year also increase so I hope to share some more news with you all in the coming weeks.

The World Mobile Congress Summary

The World Mobile Congress in Barcelona has come and gone once again and in it's wake we are left with new mobile phone innovations and future visions of telecommunication. It is hard to say if the mobile phone market has matured when mobile phone manufacturers keep coming up with new ideas and features with mobile phones.

The major theme that did interest me most of course was the announcements of new mobile phone devices. One can not help to notice where mobile phone manufacturers are focusing a part of their R&D when it comes to new mobile devices. That is the amount of memory available on mobile phones. Nokia announced the release of their new phone the N 96. The most impressive aspect of the new N96 is the 16GB memory the phone has. 16GB is a staggering amount of memory even on a computer but on a mobile phone is mind boggling. Other mobile phone manufacturers are following suite in producing mobile phones with larger memory capacities. The amount of data that will be stored on mobile phones is clearly increasing and with that much data present, securing the data to ensure that all that data will not be lost is essential.

This is of course is where SC BackUp comes into the picture. SC BackUp is a backup tool that allows mobile users to backup their precious mobile phone data. Currently the backup of mobile phone contacts, sms and calendar is possible but in the near future the next SC BackUp versions will allow mobile users to backup much more e.g. pictures etc.

The direction mobile technology is heading it is clear that Softconnection is in the right business. Mobile backup will some day become as important and common as backing up PC's. The future of mobile phone technology is exciting!
