Summarising 2007

As 2007 is rapidly coming to an end I will write a short reflection of the year that has gone by so fast again. 2007 has been a promising year for Softconnection with a number of agreements being signed for the global distribution rights of Softconnection's mobile backup software SC BackUp. Throughout the year Softconnection has had some changes with regards to new employees coming on board and a minor relocation of the office.

Some personal changes that occurred in 2007 where that i moved back to my hobby home at the lake side that i built a few years ago. Settling in should be completed before Christmas time this year. I look forward to enjoying the next summer there by the lake.

Even though 2007 has nearly ended it does not mean Softconnection has put it's feet up yet. We are still working hard and I am confident that a number of new agreements will still be finalised and announced by the lastest in early 2008.

I will keep you posted if any announcements are made.

SC BackUp is spreading!

As I expressed my reasons for beginning a CEO blog diary in my first postings, I promised to announce some big Softconnection announcements and also share my thoughts on future developments within the company.

Today I can announce Softconnection has signed a deal with Fonecta, the market leading service directory company in Finland, for usage rights of the SC BackUp application. The agreement also includes the reselling rights of the SC BackUp software for Fonecta to offer their customers.

This agreement is another positive step forward for Softconnection. By gaining partners like Fonecta, it will help push out the SC BackUp software to a wider user group more effectively.

Moving forward during the mobility age is our ambition, to offer users applications that are easy to use and that can be used for managing mobile data from the mobile phone. We plan to make some more big announcements in coming weeks so stayed tuned!

Nokia's future visions!

Reading through Nokia's future visions of mobile innovation one can only be amazed at the future prospects of the world of mobility. This said we at Softconnection have a challenging task to keep up with the changing mobile world, updating our mobile solutions software to comply with mobile phones new functionalities.

Some of Nokia's future mobile technology concepts range from translations applications which will allow users to capture foreign language texts onto their phones and then the text will be automatically translated to a language of choice. Another future application may be a useful shopping tool which again will involve capturing or even just viewing a certain object through the camera lens, the application will automatically process the object and then name to object on the phone.

A summary of Nokia's view of where mobile innovation is heading is quite promising for Softconnection. The technology trend "Mobility transforms the internet" is exactly where Softconnections backup software will be at it's most useful. With mobility possibly taking over the internet and normal PC activities, Backing up mobile data will be as important as ever with all the critical data that will be stored on mobile phones. SC BackUp will be the perfect solution to partner this technology trend, allowing users to backup and manage all the critical mobile data on the phone, from the phone. We look forward to the unraveling of mobile technology in the coming years.
